Bloom Garden
Unfortunately, Google maps takes you to the wrong entrance by the intersection. To get to the correct gate, keep driving north away from the South Sumas road to the gate by the house. Once you enter, there will be a parking attendant who will direct you where to park your car.
Main Street Church
There is a parking lot behind the building on Princess Avenue right next to the door to the reception chapel! If that is full, there is another parking lot across Main Street across from the church front entrance.
There will be some time between the ceremony and reception, so we will create an optional photo scavenger hunt of places to check out around Chilliwack that are special to Rylan and Sarah...stay tuned!
In the beautiful campus of UBC Vancouver, we were both finishing our final in-person year for our degrees when our story together began.
We both joined University Christian Ministries, a club of Christians that meet together on Thursday nights, and Sarah was walking with her friends to Rain or Shine (the best ice cream spot on campus). And on the 21st of September, Rylan enthusiastically joined Sarah and her friend’s conversation about the best Coldplay songs…even though he knew nothing about Coldplay. Henceforth, our friendship began.
The day after starting the month enjoying the UBC Orchestra with their friends, Rylan asked Sarah the next morning if she wanted to go on a date…they went that night. We ate Breka (as Sarah is a renowned Brekaholic) and walked around the Lafarge Lights caught up in conversation and each other's company for hours.
We took a picture together in front of an Old Spaghetti advertisement at the Stanley Park Bright Nights on our third date, and that’s when we knew it’s time to make it official. Only slightly kidding…we had to explore Christmas in downtown Vancouver first, and then we announced it to the families after the drive back to Carey Hall.
Rylan booked a morning high tea in Kerrisdale and did not finish his food…suspicious. We then took a lovely walk around Pacific Spirit park, a spontaneous swim at Spanish Banks, and made our way to Nitobe Gardens (a Japanese garden at UBC) where Rylan proposed in a special spot of the garden, and the groundskeeper took the best engagement photos
